About Us

Past

NewVaConnects was created as an affiliate of the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce in the spring of 2006 by a group of young professionals in their 20's and 30's who were concerned about the issues facing our region.

Our goal is to aid in the accomplishment of making the NewVa region a talent capital and an attractive community for young professionals to live, work and play. By acting as a united voice, young professionals have the opportunity to have a say in shaping our community and making it a place that attracts young talent and economic growth.

Present

NewVaConnects is an affiliate of the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce, and exists to enhance the quality of life for young professionals in the NewVa Region. We endeavor to provide young professionals with a means to form a strong connection with the community and to feel welcome and proud to call the Region their home. We can provide a platform for young professionals to speak up about issues by providing forums to connect with community leaders, business leaders and government leaders. We are dedicated to finding new ways for young professionals to connect with our community, grow personally and professionally, and to live life to its fullest.

Future

Although NewVaConnects focuses primarily on young professionals, members of all ages are welcome.

A Message From The Board

It’s been over 2 years since NewVaConnects has been bringing together young professionals in the NewVa Region. It took a lot of energy and helping hands to get the organization off the ground and we are flying high. We intend to keep the energy going with our vision for 2009. The focus this year will be adding value to our membership; partnering with other organizations, expanding our events to include social, recreational, professional, and educational opportunities; and expanding our reach further into the NewVa Region.
